Engadin Art Talks 2011: MAPPING THE ALPS
Together with renowned artists, architects and scientists this year’s symposium takes place on 27th and 28th August in the Halle am Plazzet in Zuoz. The panels will be led by Beatrix Ruf, director and curator of the Kunsthalle Zurich and Hans Ulrich Obrist, co-director of the Serpentine Gallery London.
All appreciators, admirers and interested people are cordially invited. The lectures are given in German or English. The Alps, mountains in general, geology, snow, natural forces, climate change, tourism, the sublime and the view from above into the distance have always inspired art and architecture. Thus, art has shaped our view of the Alps, whereby art and sciences went hand in hand for a long time when discovering the Alps. Hence, the symposium’s participants will talk about their involvement on the subject of "MAPPING THE ALPS" from different perspectives with many different backgrounds. 2011 Participants:Nairy Baghramian | Jan von Brevern | Andrea Deplazes | Hamish Fulton | Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster | Nikolaus Hirsch | Sarah Morris | Gianni Pettena | Walid Raad | Ritu Sarin & Tenzing Sonam | Kai Schlenther | Philip Ursprung | Lawrence Weiner | Peter Zumthor E.A.T. is integrated into the context of the SAMposiums of St. Moritz Art Masters.
